BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team has selected seniors opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley and setter Emily Solomon and junior setter Ally Plitnick as team captains for the 2024 season.
"Our three captains have consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership both on and off the court," stated Head Coach Shelley Bauder, who is entering her 32nd season at Moravian. "Their efforts have been instrumental in cultivating an environment characterized by healthy dialogue, camaraderie, and a strong spirit of competitiveness within the team."
Krasley, who is in her second year as a captain, has seen action in 252 sets in 78 career matches at Moravian, and she contributed 368 kills, 172 digs, 68 blocks, 12 service aces and 12 assists for the Hounds.
Solomon, who is also a two-year captain, has been on the court for 94 sets in 43 matches over the last three years, and she has added 322 assists, 99 digs, 16 blocks, 19 kills and 11 service aces for the Greyhounds.
Plitnick has played in 111 sets over 40 matches the past two seasons with 484 assists, 262 digs, 47 kills, 35 service aces and 20 blocks.
Moravian is slated to begin the 2024 campaign on Friday, August 30 when the squad hosts the opening day of the Greyhound Premiere Invitational with the Hounds facing off against Lancaster Bible College at 5:00 p.m. and Washington (Md.) College at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
