Moravian Wins Fifth Straight with Sweep at Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball squad won its fifth straight match with a 3-0 sweep at Cedar Crest College Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the opening set, and Moravian continued to push the advantage to capture first set 25-15
  • The Falcons had an early 7-4 edge in the second set; however, a 9-3 run from the Blue & Grey led Moravian to a 25-16 set victory to take a 2-0 lead
  • The Hounds led the entire way in the third set to post a 25-17 victory to complete the sweep

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan led Moravian with 17 kills to go with 11 digs, two blocks and a pair of service aces
  • Senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley contributed nine kills and three digs while sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner also had nine kills to go along with 14 digs and three service aces
  • Sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber recorded three kills while freshman middle blocker Kate McBrierty had three kills and two service aces
  • Junior setter Ally Plitnick controlled the Greyhounds' offense with 24 assists to go with eight digs, two kills and a pair of service aces
  • Sophomore defensive specialist Molly Hughes added 11 digs, three service aces and two kills while sophomore libero Sam Love had nine digs and four assists
