Hounds Split on Second Day Rhodes (Tenn.) Classic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on the second day of the Rhodes (Tenn.) College Classic Saturday, falling to Millsaps (Miss.) College, 3-0, and defeating the University of Dallas, 3-0. 

How It Happened – Millsaps match

  • The Majors swept the contest by set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-22
  • Senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan paced the Hounds with 16 kills to go with four digs while freshman middle blocker Kate McBrierty recorded eight kills
  • Sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner and senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley each posted five kills with Reigner adding six digs and three blocks
  • Sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber had three kills and four blocks
  • Junior setter Ally Plitnick led the Greyhounds with 29 assists to go with 14 digs while sophomore libero Sam Love had nine digs

How It Happened – Dallas match

  • The Greyhounds finished the trip with a sweep of Crusaders with scores of 25-21, 25-18, 26-24
  • Deegan led the squad again with ten kills to go with three digs while Reigner contributed eight kills, nine digs and four service aces
  • Reuber registered six kills while Krasley had four kills
  • Plitnick added 22 assists, nine digs and a pair of kills while Love recorded seven digs, five service aces and four assists
