Greyhounds Sweep Wilkes for First Landmark Conference Win of 2024

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team swept visiting Wilkes University, 3-0, in Johnston Hall Tuesday evening as the Greyhounds captured their first Landmark Conference win of the season.

How It Happened

  • The opening set went back-and-forth with the Hounds eventually pulling away for a 25-22 set victory and a 1-0 edge
  • The second game was tied at 3-3 when the Blue & Grey went on a 10-1 run to pull ahead 13-4. Moravian took the set by a 25-11 score for a 2-0 advantage
  • The third set mirrored the opening game with the contest close before the Hounds stretched the advantage to 16-8. The Blue & Grey won the set 25-20 for their 13th win of the season and first in conference play 

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan and sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber both had 12 kills to lead the Greyhounds with Deegan adding eight digs and a pair of service aces
  • Senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley posted seven kills and two service aces while freshman middle blocker Kate McBrierty added six kills, four blocks and three service aces
  • Sophomore outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky led the Hounds with five service aces while freshman outside hitter Ella Kilko contributed two kills and two blocks and sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner had three kills
  • Junior setter Ally Plitnick paced the Greyhounds with 32 assists to go with eight digs and a pair of kills while sophomore libero Sam Love added eight digs and a pair of service aces
  • Sophomore defensive specialist Molly Hughes contributed five digs while freshman defensive specialist Madalyn Kocsis had four digs
