BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team swept visiting Bryn Mawr College, 3-0, in non-conference action Thursday evening in Johnston Hall as the Greyhounds earned their tenth victory of the 2024 season.
How It Happened
- In the opening set, the Hounds turned a 3-3 tie into a 13-6 lead on the way to a 25-13 set victory to take a 1-0 advantage
- The Owls had an early 4-0 edge in the second set before the Blue & Grey knotted the score at 5-5. Moravian slowly pushed ahead and posted another 25-13 set win to take a 2-0 lead
- Bryn Mawr once again led early in the third set. However, the Greyhounds turned a 4-2 deficit into an 11-5 lead on the way to a 25-17 set victory to complete the sweep
- The Hounds hosted their Hidden Opponent match to raise awareness for mental health
Inside the Numbers
- Senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley and sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber both had seven kills and two blocks to lead the Greyhounds while junior outside hitter Caroline Melillo contributed six kills and three service aces
- Sophomore outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky added five kills, seven digs and a pair of assists while senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan recorded four kills
- Freshman middle blocker Kate McBrierty registered four kills and two blocks while sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner had two kills and a pair of service aces
- Junior setter Ally Plitnick contributed 17 assists, seven digs and two kills while sophomore setter Molly Hughes posted 11 assists, five digs and two blocks
- Sophomore libero Sam Love had seven digs, four assists and two service aces while freshman defensive specialist Emma Granger had five digs and freshman defensive specialist Madalyn Kocsis added three digs
- Moravian won for the eighth time in nine matches this season
