MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball squad opened its trip to the Rhodes (Tenn.) College Classic with two matches Friday, falling to host Rhodes, 3-1, and LeTourneau (Texas) University, 3-0.
How It Happened – Rhodes match
- The Greyhounds won the opening set 25-23; however, the host Lynx took the next three games 25-19, 25-13, 25-22 to earn the victory
- Sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner led the Blue & Grey with 12 kills to go with eight digs and a pair of service aces while sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber added seven kills
- Senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley recorded six kills while senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan posted four kills and eight digs
- Freshman middle blocker Kate McBrierty contributed three kills and three digs while junior setter Ally Plitnick led the Greyhounds with 26 assists to go along with seven digs, three service aces and a pair of blocks
- Sophomore libero Sam Love had seven digs and five assists while sophomore defensive specialist Molly Hughes added six digs
How It Happened – LeTourneau match
- The Yellowjackets swept the contest with set victories of 25-19, 25-16, 25-9
- Reigner, McBrierty and Deegan all had five kills in the match with Reigner adding 13 digs and Deegan contributing four digs and a pair of blocks
- Krasley posted four kills and three digs while Reuber recorded three kills and two blocks
- Plitnick registered 13 assists while Love had 13 digs and three assists and Hughes added six digs
