BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team swept visiting Lycoming College, 3-0, in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon in Johnston Hall.
How It Happened
- The first set was tight throughout with the largest lead being three points, twice by the Warriors as Lycoming had a 22-19 edge late. However, the Greyhounds scored six of the final seven points for a 25-23 set victory and a 1-0 lead
- The Hounds took a quick 3-0 advantage in the second set; however, the Warriors rallied back to lead 15-14. The Blue & Grey edged back ahead and earned a 25-21 set win and a 2-0 lead in the contest
- The third set was back-and-forth early before Lycoming pulled out to a 14-11 lead. Moravian countered with 14 of the final 15 points including the last ten with sophomore libero Sam Love serving
Inside the Numbers
- Senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley led the Greyhounds with 13 kills on 17 attempts to go with a .765 hitting percentage, the school record for a three-set match with more than 15 attempts. Krasley also had four digs
- Sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber contributed 11 kills while senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan recorded ten kills and five digs
- Freshman middle blocker Kate McBrierty posted five kills while sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner had two kills, ten digs and a pair of service aces
- Junior setter Ally Plitnick led the offense with 37 assists to go with ten digs while Love finished with 15 digs and seven service aces including six in her run to end the match
- Sophomore setter/defensive specialist Molly Hughes recorded six digs and two assists while sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Hughes added five digs
