Moravian Sweeps Delaware Valley in Non-Conference Action

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball squad swept host Delaware Valley University, 3-0, in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the opening set and eventually took a 25-20 victory to open a 1-0 lead
  • Moravian had an early 5-1 edge in the second set. However, the Aggies came back to knot the score at 17-17. The set would go back-and-forth from there with the Blue & Grey needing to go beyond the 25 points for a 29-27 set win and a 2-0 advantage
  • The third set was close throughout with the Hounds building a 24-21 lead. However, Delaware Valley scored four straight points to go up 25-24. Moravian rallied and would capture a 30-28 triumph to win the match

Inside the Numbers

  • Sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner had 12 kills and 12 digs for Moravian while senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley added 12 kills, five digs and four blocks
  • Sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber also recorded 12 kills to go along with five blocks while senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan had six kills and 14 digs
  • Freshman middle blocker Kate McBrierty registered four kills and a pair of blocks while sophomore outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky had a pair of kills
  • Junior setter Ally Plitnick led the Greyhounds with 40 assists to go with 15 digs, three kills and two blocks. The 40 assists pushed Plitnick's career total over 1,000 as she became the tenth setter in program history to reach the milestone
  • Sophomore libero Sam Love set the school record for a three-set match as she recorded 42 digs to go with five assists
  • Sophomore defensive specialist Molly Hughes had five digs while sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Hughes added three digs
