Hounds Win Two Matches on Second Day of Greyhound Premiere

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team won a pair of contests on the second day of the 21st Greyhound Premiere Invitational as the Hounds defeated Centenary (N.J.) University, 3-1, and Alvernia University, 3-0, Saturday.

How It Happened – Centenary match

  • The Cyclones captured the opening set, 25-22, before the Hounds won the next three 25-20, 25-20 and 25-13 to earn their first victory of the season
  • Senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan paced the Blue & Grey with 17 kills to go with three digs while sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber added nine kills
  • Senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley recorded eight kills while sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner posted five kills, eight digs and a pair of service aces
  • Freshman Kate McBrierty also had five kills to go with four service aces and two blocks while sophomore Kelly Tempalsky added four kills
  • Junior setter Ally Plitnick led the Greyhounds with 23 assists to go with 16 digs and two service aces while senior setter Emily Solomon registered 16 assists, six digs and three service aces
  • Sophomore libero Sam Love posted 17 digs and four assists while sophomore defensive specialist Molly Hughes had seven digs

How It Happened – Alvernia match

  • Moravian swept the Golden Wolves, 25-13, 25-21 and 25-16
  • Reuber led the Blue & Grey with nine kills and four blocks while Reigner contributed six kills, 15 digs and a pair of service aces
  • Deegan, who was selected to the All-Tournament Team, also registered six kills with five digs and two blocks while Krasley added five kills
  • McBrierty posred four kills and a pair of service aces while Plitnick contributed 19 assists and ten digs
  • Love and Hughes both had 14 digs for Moravian
