BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball squad swept visiting DeSales University, 3-0, in non-conference action in Johnston Hall Wednesday evening.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds scored the first four points of the match, and Moravian was up 19-12 before the Bulldogs closed within one at 22-21. DeSales tied the set at 23-23; however, the Blue & Grey scored the final two points for a 25-23 set victory
- The Bulldogs earned the first two points of the second set, and DeSales led 5-3 early. Down 8-6, Moravian used a 12-4 run to take control of the set before winning 25-13
- The third set went back-and-forth early. Moravian eventually built a 19-11 edge, and the Hounds would take a 25-22 set win for the sweep.
Inside the Numbers
- Senior outside hitter Jenna Deegan led the Greyhounds with 12 kills to go with nine digs, six service aces and three blocks while senior opposite hitter Makenzie Krasley had eight kills and four blocks
- Sophomore outside hitter Gabbie Reigner contributed seven kills and eight digs while sophomore middle blocker Payton Reuber and freshman middle blocker Kate McBrierty both had three kills with McBriety adding six blocks and three service aces
- Junior setter Ally Plitnick paced Moravian with 28 assists and 12 digs while sophomore libero Sam Love added 16 digs and four service aces and sophomore defensive specialist Molly Hughes recorded nine digs
