Krasley Breaks Record as Moravian Defeats Scranton in Conference Quarterfinals

Junior right side hitter Samantha Savite's 16 kills and six blocks would propel the Greyhounds to the Landmark Conference Semifinals after they defeated The University of Scranton in five sets, 3-2.

Moravian would win the first two sets 25-20 and 25-21. The Royals would just edge the Greyhounds 25-22 in the third set. Moravian held a 20-18 lead in the fourth, but Scranton would rally to win 25-23. In the fifth set, Moravian was up 8-3 and 10-5, but the Royals would go on a run to take a 14-13 lead before the Greyhounds closed them out and won the final set 16-14.

Junior libero Jesse Krasley would tally 29 digs in the contest while breaking the career dig record previously set at 1,665 digs. Krasley now has 1,682 career digs. She also had three service aces.

Freshman outside hitter Taylor Jennings totaled 11 kills and two aces. Sophomore setter Kelly Brown would come up with 43 assists and 22 digs on the night. Junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey tallied 10 kills, five digs and two aces.

Senior middle blocker Katie Moquete had seven kills and four blocks while classmate defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had 11 digs and two aces. Sophomore middle blocker Brittany O'Hara totaled four kills and three blocks while freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo had four kills and three digs.

The Royals were led by freshman outside hitter Julia Crilly who had 22 kills and 22 digs. Junior setter Juli Woods tallied 31 assists and three blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Michaela McCrudden tallied eight kills and 17 digs.

The Greyhounds move onto the Landmark Conference Semifinals where they will face top seed Juniata College on Saturday November 5th. The match is at Juniata College at 11 a.m.
