The Moravian College women's volleyball team opened the second day of the York College of Pennsylvania Spartan Invitational with a 25-18, 25-16, 25-14 win over The University of Rochester.

Junior right side hitter Samantha Savite, pictured at right, paced the Greyhounds with 12 kills, five blocks and five digs while senior middle blocker Katie Moquete had eight kills, three digs and three blocks. Sophomore setter Kelly Brown controlled the offense with 30 assists to go with 11 digs, three service aces and two kills while junior libero Jesse Krasley had 18 digs. Junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had four kills and a service ace for Moravian while freshman outside hitter Taylor Jennings added six kills, eight digs and a service ace. Freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo had five kills, five digs and two service aces in the match while senior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added eight digs. Sophomore middle blocker Brittany O'Hara had two kills and four blocks.

Senior outside hitter Casey Larsen led Rochester with five kills and eight digs while sophomore outside hitter Sara Ribakove had five kills, six digs and a service ace. Sophomore middle blocker/right side hitter Savannah Benton contributed six kills for the Yellow Jackets while freshman setter Xiaoyi Li had 27 assists and five digs. Junior outside hitter Kelly Mulrey had four kills and seven digs while junior defensive specialist Lauren Bujnicki had 12 digs.

The Greyhounds will return to action at 4:00 p.m. in the final match of the York College of Pennsylvania Spartan Invitational versus Swarthmore College in the third place contest.
