Volleyball Falls to Nationally-Ranked #10 Juniata

The Moravian College women's volleyball team dropped a 25-17, 25-14, 25-13 decision to #10 Juniata College in the squad's second match of the Landmark Conference season in the first round robin at Juniata College.

Junior right side hitter Samantha Savite led the Greyhounds with eight kills, three digs and two service aces while freshman outside hitter Taylor Jennings had five kills, three digs and a block. Senior middle blocker Katie Moquete had four kills and two digs while sophomore setter Kelly Brown, pictured, contributed 18 assists, ten digs and two kills. Junior libero Jesse Krasley led Moravian with 15 digs to go with two assists while freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo had two kills. Junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had four digs while senior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added three digs. Sophomore right side hitter Katelynn Strohl had two digs and a kill for the Greyhounds.

Sophomore outside hitter Rachelle Wiegand led Juniata with seven kills, seven digs, three service aces and a pair of blocks while sophomore outside hitter Amy Miller had six kills and four digs. Sophomore setter Courtney Greenberg had 32 assists, ten digs and three kills for the Eagles while freshman middle hitter Christine Sumner added four kills and four blocks. Senior libero Libby Morrison contributed a team high 15 digs for Juniata while freshman outside hitter/right side hitter Amelia Kepler had four kills, four digs and four blocks. Junior middle hitter Ashley Schnader had four kills and three digs.

Moravian returns to action on Sunday, October 2 when the team finishes the first Landmark Conference round robin with a 12:30 p.m. with a match versus Goucher College.
