Volleyball Defeats Centenary College 3-1

The Moravian College women's volleyball team opened a tri-match at Cedar Crest College with a 25-20, 16-25, 25-15, 25-16 victory over Centenary College in the middle contest Saturday.

Sophomore middle blocker Brittany O'Hara, pictured, led the Greyhounds with ten kills and two blocks while sophomore right side hitter Katelyn Strohl had eight kills and two digs. Senior middle blocker Katie Moquete contributed five kills, three service aces and a block while freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo had five kills and two digs.

Sophomore setter Kelly Brown led Moravian with 31 assists to go with 11 digs while junior libero Jesse Krasley had a team high 24 digs to go with four service aces, two assists and a kill. Senior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added six service aces, two assists and five digs for the Greyhounds while freshman outside hitter Taylor Jennings had four kills and two blocks. Junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had four service aces and four kills in the match for Moravian.

Jelena Markovic led Centenary with 18 assists, 15 digs, nine kills, five service aces and three blocks while Devon Paffendorf added nine kills, five digs and a pair of blocks. Kelli McMenamin contributed 13 assists, seven kills, four service aces and seven digs while Erika Chu had seven kills and three blocks. Kelsey Walter added 14 digs for the Cyclones.

Moravian went right back on the court to play the host Falcons at 2:00 p.m.
