Greyhounds Win ECAC Quarterfinals Game Versus Neumann

The fourth seeded Moravian College women's volleyball team defeated fifth seeded Neumann University in the Quarterfinals of the ECAC Division III South Tournament 3-0. Freshman outside hitter Taylor Jennings led the way for the Greyhounds, knocking down 11 kills to go with six digs and one block.

Moravian started the first set slow, going down 17-14 midway through the match, but they would rally back to win that set 25-20. The Greyhounds would then jump out to an 8-2 lead in the second set, but the Knights would come back to tie the set at 13. It would remain close, but Moravian would walk away with a 25-20 set win. The Greyhounds would open the third set with a 15-3 lead. After that, Neumann would take a timeout to compose itself, and rally all the way back to come within four points at 23-19, but Moravian would finish them out 25-20.

Freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo would rack up nine kills, six digs and three service aces on the night while senior middle blocker Katie Moquete would add nine kills of her own, and two blocks.

Sophomore setter Kelly Brown tallied 32 assists, seven digs, two kills, two blocks and an ace. Junior libero Jesse Krasley added 20 digs to become the first player in school history to surpass 1,700 career digs and four assists while junior outside hitter Samantha Savite totaled eight kills, two digs and one block.

Junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had three kills while sophomore middle blocker Brittany O'Hara added two kills and one block.

Leading the Knights was graduate-student Katie Young with eight kills and one block. Senior setter Cecily Scavicchio tallied 21 assists, nine digs and two aces while junior libero Victoria Limmina had 11 digs and one ace.

The Greyhounds will now take on eighth seed St. Vincent College in the semifinals of the ECAC South Tournament. The match is scheduled for at 11 a.m. at Bethany College on Saturday, November 12th. The other semifinal matchup will be two seeded Bethany College versus three seeded Swarthmore College. The winner of those two matches will meet in the ECAC South Championship match.
