Krasley Moves Into Third All-Time For Career Digs as Hounds Roll Over PSU-Berks

The Moravian College women's volleyball team defeated Penn State-Berks Thursday night, 3-1 (25-11, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23). Junior Jesse Krasley moved into third all-time in career digs, with 29 digs in tonight's game. She now has 1,340 for her career.

Junior libero Samantha Savite, pictured, led the way for Moravian with 17 kills. Behind her was senior middle blocker Katie Moquete with 11 kills, and she also had five blocks and six digs. Sophomore setter Kelly Brown dished out 43 assists to go with four kills of her own and 14 digs.

Senior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had 12 digs in the contest while freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo had 12 digs and five kills. Junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey and sophomore middle blocker Brittany O'Hara both had eight kills apiece with O'Hara adding three blocks. Sophomore right side hitter Katelynn Strohl and freshman outside hitter Taylor Jennings both had two kills. Jennings added three digs, while Strohl had two digs.

For the Nittany Lions, sophomore middle blocker Amy Shelton led the way with 14 kills. Freshman setter Kaitlyn Schmeck added 30 assists to go with her eight digs. Freshman libero Victoria Young led the team with 29 digs and two service aces.

Moravian returns to action this weekend October 1-2, when they travel to Juniata College to open up Landmark Conference play. The first game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
