Volleyball Wins 4th Straight

The Moravian College women's volleyball team closed a tri-match at Cedar Crest College with a 25-17, 25-11, 25-17 win over the host Falcons Saturday afternoon as the Greyhounds extended their winning streak to four straight matches.

Junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey, pictured, led the Greyhounds with 15 kills to go with four digs and a service ace while senior middle blocker Katie Moquete had nine kills, four blocks, three digs and two service aces in the victory. Sophomore setter Kelly Brown paced Moravian with 28 assists to go with seven digs a pair of kills while junior libero Jesse Krasley had 18 digs, four assists and a service ace.

Sophomore middle blocker Brittany O'Hara had four kills and a pair of blocks for the Greyhounds while sophomore right side hitter Katelyn Strohl had four kills and three digs. Freshman outside hitter Taylor Jennings added three kills and three digs while freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo had four digs and two service aces. Senior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt contributed six digs and a service aces in the win.

Amber Wehry led Cedar Crest with eight kills and six digs while Debra Lobien had 14 assists and 13 digs. Nikole Johnson had a team high 16 digs while Rebecca Grady had six kills. Jessica Lobien had 12 digs and four kills for the Falcons while Kamala Meena Sutton had five kills, three digs and two blocks.

Moravian is scheduled to get back to action on Saturday, October 15 in the second Landmark Conference Round Robin weekend of the season hosted by The Catholic University of America. The Greyhounds will play the host Cardinals at 1:00 p.m.
