Volleyball Falls Just Short to Cabrini

The Moravian College women's volleyball team dropped a 25-23, 24-26, 23-25, 25-14, 15-10 non-conference match at Cabrini College Tuesday evening.

Junior right side hitter Samantha Savite led the Greyhounds with 16 kills, six digs and five blocks while freshman outside hitter Taylor Jennigs added 13 kills and three digs. Senior middle blocker Katie Moquete contributed ten kills, two digs and two blocks while sophomore setter Kelly Brown had 47 assists to go with 23 digs and five blocks. Junior libero Jesse Kasley, pictured, had a 32 digs to become the fourth player in school history to surpass 1,300 career digs while senior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had 23 digs to become the sixth player in school history to move past 1,100 career digs. Freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo contributed 16 digs, seven kills and two service aces for Moravian while sophomore middle blocker Brittany O'Hara added eight blocks and six kills. Junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had four kills and six digs for the Greyhounds.

Junior outside hitter Danielle Carrozza led the Cavaliers with 19 kills and 34 digs while senior outside hitter Alexis Doss had 12 kills, five digs and two blocks. Sophomore middle hitter Michele Fitz added eight kills, four blocks and four digs while sophomore setter Alaina Clark had 46 assists, nine digs and five kills. Senior middle hitter Beth Gillespie had seven kills and three blocks while junior opposite hitter Megan Ryan added seven kills and four digs. Sophomore outside hitter Sophia Sokolovich had 35 digs to lead Cabrini.

The Greyhounds will return to action in a non-conference match versus Penn State-Berks on Thursday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
