Zamolyi Selected to D3hoops.Com Team of the Week Presented by Scoutware

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian University graduate student forward Tessa Zamolyi has been selected to the first D3hoops.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware of the 2022-23 season for her performance last week.

Zamolyi made her Moravian debut an impressive one with three double-doubles in a 2-1 week for the Greyhounds that saw her average 15.0 points and 13.7 rebounds per contest. Zamolyi also shot 19-for-46 from the floor, 2-for-5 on three-pointers and 5-for-8 at the foul line while contributing four assists, three steals and a pair of blocked shots with an average of 28.3 minutes per game. Zamolyi began her career with the Hounds with 19 points, 11 rebounds and three assists in a 66-64 win over Albright College that saw her hit a long three-pointer to beat the buzzer at halftime and a lay-up at the final buzzer to win the game. Zamolyi added 13 points, 17 rebounds and a blocked shot in a 52-44 win over York College of Pennsylvania, and she had 13 points, 14 rebounds, three steals, an assist and a blocked shot in an 87-84 double overtime loss to Stevens Institute of Technology.

"Tessa put together three solid games to open the season with us," commented Head Women's Basketball Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "The team of the week honor is a great accomplishment for her. Tessa has obviously put in the time and energy with her game over the years, and we are grateful to have her a part of the Moravian Basketball team. Congratulations to Tessa!"

Moravian, which is 2-1 overall, is slated to return to action on Wednesday, November 16 when the squad travels to Dickinson College for a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 p.m.
