BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's basketball team rallied from a nine-point third quarter deficit and forced overtime before falling to visiting The College of New Jersey, 66-64, in overtime in non-conference action in Johnston Hall Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Lions scored the first two points of the game before a lay-up from senior guard Morgan Amy knotted the score at 2-2. TCNJ moved out to a 10-4 edge while the Blue and Grey countered with six straight points to tie the game again at 10-10 on a lay-up from junior forward Sam Osorio with just over three minutes left in the quarter. Osorio gave the Greyhounds a 14-13 advantage late in the quarter, but it would be the Lions that held a 15-14 lead after 10 minutes of action
  • TCNJ pushed the edge out to five points at 19-14 before graduate student forward Tessa Zamolyi connected on a three-pointer for the Hounds. Moravian moved back in front 22-21 on a jumper from graduate student forward Kayla Yoegel, and Zamolyi had the Greyhounds up 24-31 with 4:10 until the intermission. Yoegel hit a lay-up and a pair of free throws, and Zamolyi added a three-point play as the Greyhounds closed within 47-45 after 30 minutes of play
  • TCNJ quickly pushed its edge back to 52-45 early in the fourth quarter, and the Lions had a 55-48 edge with 5:37 to go. Yoegel connected on three shots, and Osorio followed with a lay-up and a pair of free throws to put the Hounds ahead 58-57 with 2:11 to go. After a three-pointer from the Lions, Osorio knotted the game again at 60-60 at the 1:38 mark, and neither team was able to score again in regulation
