CARLISLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's basketball squad dropped a 66-54 non-conference contest at Dickinson College Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Red Devils netted the first four points of the contest before senior forward Emily Markowski hit a lay-up to get the Hounds on the scoreboard. Dickinson followed with a 10-0 run for a 14-2 edge. Graduate student forward Tessa Zamolyi stopped the run with a three-pointer, and she hit another three-pointer at the buzzer to end the first quarter with the Greyhounds trailing the Red Devils 18-8
  • Dickinson stretched its advantage to as many as 14 points during the second quarter, and the Red Devils headed to the locker room with a 30-18 lead
  • The Red Devils pushed the edge to 48-30 after 30 minutes of action
  • In the fourth quarter, the Greyhounds closed the gap to six points at 51-45 on a jumper from sophomore forward Brielle Guarente, and a lay-up by Zamolyi had the score at 53-47 with 4:18 remaining. However, that would be as close as Moravian could get as Dickinson pushed the advantage back into double digits

Inside the Numbers

  • The Greyhounds had two players in double digits as Zamolyi and graduate student guard Kayla Yoegel both tossed in 16 points with Zamolyi adding seven rebounds, three assists and three steals and Yoegel contributing two boards and a pair of assists
  • Junior forward Sam Osorio added nine points, two rebounds and two assists off the bench while Guarente had four points
  • Senior guard Morgan Amy recorded three points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals while Markowski, senior guard Ashley Robinson and sophomore guard Mikayla Anderson all scored two points
  • Moravian connected on 21-of-56 field goal attempts, 5-of-13 three-pointers and 7-of-10 free throws in the contest
  • The Hounds committed just 13 turnovers while forcing the Red Devils into 19 miscues; however, Dickinson had a 54-19 advantage on the boards
