Mohr Named Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week

MADISON, N.J. --- Junior infielder Shannen Mohr (Slatington, Pa./Parkland HS) of the Moravian College softball team has been named the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Mohr helped Moravian post a 5-5 record at the National Training Center Spring Games last week, hitting .381 over nine games.  Mohr had eight hits with five going for extra bases including three doubles, a triple and a home run.  Mohr's final hit of the week, a double versus Simmons (Mass.) College, was the 100th hit of her career, becoming the 27th Moravian player to hit the milestone.  Mohr saw time at both third base and second base during the trip, and she had 11 putouts and 16 assists in 30 chances in the field.

Moravian, which is ranked 19th and has a 5-5 overall record on the season, will open its 2012 Landmark Conference season on Saturday, March 17th with a doubleheader at Susquehanna University starting at 1:00 p.m. start.
