Four Softball Players Among Division III Statistical Leaders

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Four Moravian College softball players are ranked in the latest NCAA Division III statistics released Tuesday.

Senior pitcher/first baseman Jenna Carmon (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central HS) is ranked in three different categories. She is 59th in walks allowed per nine innings (1.19), 38th with a 1.49 ERA and tied for 28th with 15 victories, while also being tied for 17th in shutouts with 6 and 92nd in hits allowed per nine innings with6.15. On the season, Carmon is 15-5 with a 1.49 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 117.1 innings. She is also batting .389 (37-for-95) from the plate to go with her 30 runs and 22 RBIs.

Sophomore catcher Cassie Ernst (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona HS) has been tough this spring, ranking tenth in the nation after getting hit by a pitch 0.31 times per game. She has been hit by a pitch eleven times this season. Also she is tied at 89th for on base percentage with a .500 average. This year, Ernst has a .400 (38-for-95) batting average to go with her 30 runs, 25 RBIs and six home runs.

Freshman infielder Jenn Dalickas (Mertztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights HS) is tied for 18th with an average of .29 home runs per game this season. She is also tied for 17th for home runs with nine on the season, she also is tied at 32nd with slugging percentage at .800. This spring, Dalickas is batting .369 (37-for-95) from the plate to go with her 19 runs, 10 doubles and team-best nine home runs and 34 RBIs.

Freshman outfielder Dior George (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty HS) is 45th in stolen bases at .580 and is tied for 91st with 1.03 runs per game. This spring, George is batting .408 (49 for 120) from the plate to go with her team leading 37 runs, along with 12 doubles and 19 RBIs.

As a team, the Greyhounds are ranked in seven different categories. Moravian is 28th in home runs per game (0.72), tied for 6th with 2.11 doubles per game, 37th in earned run average (1.88), tied for 36th with a .731 win-loss percentage, 23rd in slugging percentage with a .503, 41st for scoring averaging 6.64 runs per game, and 48th in batting average at .337.

Softball returns to action on Saturday, April 28 in a Landmark Conference doubleheader versus The Catholic University of America at Blue & Grey Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
