Five Softball Players are Ranked in the Latest NCAA DIII Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Five Moravian College softball players are ranked in the latest NCAA Division III statistics released Tuesday.

Senior pitcher / first baseman Jenna Carmon is ranked 14th in the nation with eight shutouts, 25th with a 1.38 ERA, 26th with 19 victories, 69th in hits allowed per seven innings at 5.95 and 90th in walks allowed per seven innings at 1.38. On the season, Carmon is 19-5 with a 1.38 ERA in 142.1 innings. At the plate, she is hitting .371 with 34 runs and 24 RBIs.

Sophomore catcher Cassie Ernst ranks fifth in the country after getting hit by a pitch 0.38 times per game and she ranks 52nd in on-base percentage at .511. This spring, Ernst is hitting .396 with 35 runs, 31 RBIs, seven doubles and six home runs.

Freshman infielder Jenn Dalickas is ranked 27th in the country with 0.25 home runs per game, 32nd in home runs with nine and 60th in slugging percentage at .750. This year, Dalickas is batting .370 with nine home runs, 37 RBIs, 20 runs and 12 doubles.

Junior first baseman Amanda Dizinno ranks 47th in Division III at toughest to strikeout after striking out only one time every 35.5 at-bats. On the season, Dizinno is hitting .366 with 18 RBIs, 12 runs, seven doubles and only two strikeouts in 71 at-bats.

Freshman outfielder Dior George is ranked 59th with 0.54 stolen bases per game, 72nd in runs per game at 1.02 and 92nd in doubles per game at 0.37. This spring, George leads the Greyhounds with a .404 batting average, 22 stolen bases, 15 doubles and 42 runs scored to go with her 19 RBIs.

As a team, Moravian is ranked in seven different statistical categories. They rank sixth in doubles per game (2.07), 21st in ERA (1.74), 25th in win-loss percentage (0.78), 25th in slugging percentage (.495), 27th in runs per game (6.51), 41st in home runs per game (0.66) and 49th in batting average (.333).

The Greyhounds return to action on Thursday, May 10th when they take on Centenary (NJ) College for a first round matchup in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. in Union, NJ.
