Six Softball Players are Ranked in Final 2012 NCAA Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Six Moravian College softball players are ranked in the final NCAA Division III statistics released Friday.

Senior pitcher Jenna Carmon is ranked 13th in shutouts with 13, 21st in victories with 22, 28th in earned run average at 1.44, 73rd in hits allowed per seven innings at 6.04 and 76th in walks allowed per nine innings at 1.32. On the season, Carmon went 22-7 with a 1.44 ERA on the mound. She had 102 strikeouts while walking 33 in 175 innings. At the plate, Carmon hit .364 with 36 runs scored, 26 RBIs and nine doubles.

Freshman infielder Jenn Dalickas is ranked 21st with ten home runs, 24th with 0.25 home runs per game and 68th with a .735 slugging percentage. This spring, Dalickas hit .359 with 38 RBIs, 21 runs, 12 doubles and ten home runs.

Sophomore catcher Cassie Ernst ranks fifth in the nation in getting hit by pitches per game at 0.38 times, 38th in on-base percentage at .527, 72nd in home runs with eight and 93rd in slugging percentage at .702. This year, Ernst led the Greyhounds with a .421 batting average to go with her 38 runs, 36 RBIs, ten doubles and eight home runs.

Freshman outfielder Dior George ranked 75th in the country with .48 stolen bases per game and 80th with 0.98 runs per game. This season, George led Moravian with 45 runs, 22 stolen bases and 15 doubles to go with her 20 RBIs and .375 batting average.

Junior first baseman Amanda Dizinno ranks 21st in Division III at toughest to strike out. She only struck out every 43 at-bats this year. Dizinno hit .360 with 19 RBIs, 13 runs scored and only two strikeouts in 86 at-bats.

Sophomore outfielder Miranda Sergas ranks 52nd in the country with 0.29 sacrifice hits per game. Sergas had 12 sacrifice hits this season to go with her .304 batting average, 26 runs, 20 RBIs and nine doubles.

As a team, the Greyhounds are ranked in six different statistical categories. They are ranked fifth in doubles per game (2.07), 21st in slugging percentage (.496), 23rd in ERA (1.76), 24th in win-loss percentage (.761), 29th in home runs per game (0.72) and 46th in runs per game (6.24).

The Greyhounds recently wrapped up its season after falling one game short of the championship game in the NCAA Regional Tournament. Moravian finished the season 35-11 while capturing its 13th straight conference title.
