MADISON, N.J. – Senior Jenna Carmon of the Moravian College softball team earned Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of April 30th. This is the third time this spring, Carmon was named pitcher of the week (3/5; 4/9).
Carmon won both games of a Landmark doubleheader as the Greyhounds secured the number-two seed for the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament. She allowed just one hit in a complete-game shutout in game one of the twinbill against Landmark foe Catholic, and then surrendered just two runs in seven innings of the second contest. Carmon struck out eight over 12 innings and produced a 1.17 ERA.
On the season, Carmon is 17-5 with a 1.46 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 129.1 innings pitched. At the plate, she is hitting .378 (37-for-98) to go with her 31 runs, 22 RBIs, eight doubles, a triple and a home run.
Moravian will return to action on Friday, May 4 in the 2012 Landmark Conference Tournament when the second seeded Greyhounds take on third seed Scranton in the second game of the tournament at 1:00 p.m. in Selinsgrove.
