Six Softball Players Rank in Latest NCAA Division III Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Six student-athletes on the Moravian College softball team are ranked in the latest NCAA Division III statistics released Wednesday.

Senior pitcher Jenna Carmon is ranked 12th in the nation with 12 shutouts, 19th with 22 wins, 27th in earned run average at 1.44, 71st in hits allowed per seven innings at 6.04 and 76th in walks allowed per seven innings at 1.32. On the season, Carmon is 22-7 with a 1.44 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 175 innings while holding her opponents to a .223 batting average.

Freshman infielder Jenn Dalickas is ranked 20th in home runs with ten, 21st in home runs per game at 0.25 and 69th in slugging percentage at .735. This spring, Dalickas hit .359 with 21 runs, 12 doubles and a school-record tying ten home runs and team-best 38 RBIs.

Sophomore catcher Cassie Ernst is the toughest on the team after ranking fifth in the country by getting hit by a pitch 0.38 times per game. She also ranks 37th in on-base percentage at .527, 69th in home runs with eight and 97th in slugging percentage at .702. This year, Ernst was the team's leading hitter with a .421 batting average to go with her 38 runs, 36 RBIs, 17 hit by pitches, ten doubles, ten walks and eight home runs.

Junior first baseman Amanda Dizinno is one of the toughest to strikeout, ranking 22nd in the country after striking out only one time every 43 at-bats. Dizinno has two strikeouts in 86 at-bats to go with her .360 average, 19 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

Freshman outfielder Dior George ranks 74th in the nation with 0.48 stolen bases per game and 81st with 0.98 runs per game. George led the Greyhounds this season with 22 stolen bases, 45 runs and 15 doubles to go with her 20 RBIs and .375 batting average.

Sophomore outfielder Miranda Sergas ranks 52nd in the country with 0.29 sacrifice hits per game. Sergas has 12 sacrifice hits to go with her .304 batting average, 26 runs, 20 RBIs, 16 walks and nine doubles.

As a team Moravian is ranked in six different statistical categories. They rank fourth in doubles per game (2.07), 21st in slugging percentage (.496), 22nd in ERA (1.76), 28th in home runs per game (0.72), 29th in win-loss percentage (.761) and 45th in runs per game (6.24).

The Greyhounds recently wrapped up its season after falling one game short of the championship game in the NCAA Regional Tournament. Moravian finished the season 35-11 while capturing its 13th straight conference title.
