Men Place 6th at Rain-Soaked Lafayette 8-Way Meet

EASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field squad placed fifth of seven schools at a rain-soaked Lafayette College 8-Way Meet Saturday.

The Greyhounds had 33 points on the day while NCAA Division I Rider University finished first with 120 points.

Moravian had a trio of runner-up finishes with junior Dillon Farrell finishing second in the 3,000-meter run in 8:48.51, freshman Kahron Walker taking second in the long jump at 6.26 meters (20 feet, 6 ½ inches) and junior Chris Ossont placing second in the triple jump at 12.89 meters (42 feet, 3 ½ inches). Ossont was also fourth in the long jump at 5.97 meters (19 feet, seven inches).

On the track, freshman Austin Gardener was sixth in the 100-meter dash in 11.86 seconds, and he placed fifth in the 200-meter dash in 23.98 seconds. Sophomore Tyler Dwyer finished eighth in the 400-meter dash in 52.47 seconds while freshman Cory Taggert was eighth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:13.09. Sophomore Ryan Sickler finished ninth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 18.19 seconds.

In the throws, sophomore Jacob Fritz placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 13.11 meters (43 feet, ¼ inch) while junior Parker Munson was ninth at 12.81 meters (42 feet, ½ inch) and freshman Ljuboslav Boskic took 10th with a distance of 12.66 meters (41 feet, 6 ½ inches). Munson was also seventh in the discus with a toss of 38.90 meters (127 feet, seven inches) while freshman Greg Cahill was ninth at 37.00 meters (121 feet, five inches).

The Greyhounds have two meets on the schedule for next weekend with several athletes competing at the Sam Howell Memorial Invitational hosted by Princeton University on Friday, April 4 and the whole squad at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Saturday, April 5.
