Munson Hits ECAC Mark in Shot Put at Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior Parker Munson hit the ECAC qualifying mark in the shot put with a toss of 14.25 meters (46 feet, nine inches) to lead the Moravian College men's track & field team on the opening day of the 2014 Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field.

Munson's mark was on his first toss in the finals and placed him seventh in the event. Senior Frank Yannotta took 15th with a toss of 12.32 meters (40 feet, 0.5 inches) while sophomore Jacob Fritz placed 17th at 12.19 meters (40 feet) and senior Kyle Kersting tied for 19th at a distance of 11.92 meters (39 feet, 1.25 inches).

Junior Jeffrey Gallagher led the Greyhounds in the hammer throw at 41.67 meters (136 feet, eight inches) while freshman Greg Cahill was 13th with a personal record of 40.35 meters (132 feet, four inches). Kersting placed 16th with a distance of 36.81 meters (120 feet, nine inches) while freshman Matt Jones was 17th at 36.35 meters (119 feet, three inches) and freshman Ki-Jana Williams took 18th at 34.68 meters (113 feet, nine inches).

Moravian will host the second day of the Greyhound Invitational on Saturday, April 18 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
