Men Compete at Lehigh Games

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field team had its final tune-up before the 2014 Landmark Conference Championships as the squad crossed over South Mountain to compete in the non-scoring Lehigh University Games Saturday.

Freshman Kahron Walker was fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.90 meters (six feet, 2.75 inches) while junior Chris Ossont placed eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.16 meters (20 feet, 2.5 inches).

In the throws, senior Frank Yannotta was seventh in the discus with a toss of 41.01 meters (134 feet, six inches) while freshman Ki-Jana Williams placed ninth at 39.15 meters (128 feet, five inches). Freshman Greg Cahill was 10th in the shot put at 13.03 meters (42 feet, nine inches).

On the track, senior Yacine Zerdoum finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 49.71 seconds while freshman Cory Taggert took eighth in 50.87 seconds. Freshman Matt Barnett placed seventh in the 100-meter dash in 11.72 seconds while sophomore Ryan Karnopp placed ninth in 11.94 seconds. Freshman Austin Gardener took fourth in the 200-meter dash in 22.83 seconds.

Senior Craig Arner placed fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.00 seconds while sophomore Ryan Sickler took ninth in 16.87 seconds. Junior Dillon Farrell was seventh in the 800-meer run in 1:57.83.

The Greyhounds will look to capture their seventh straight Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship when the 2014 meet kicks off on Saturday, May 3 at The United States Merchant Marine Academy.
