Lorah & Joint Post Top 10 Finishes at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --- Moravian College seniors Kristopher Joint and Timothy Lorah competed in the final day of the 120th Penn Relays hosted by The University of Pennsylvania at historic Franklin Field.

Joint was sixth in the College Men's Triple Jump Eastern with an ECAC qualifying mark of 14.84 meters (48 feet, 8.25 inches). The jump came on his third attempt of the preliminaries after a foul on his first jump and a mark of 14.08 meters on the second attempt. In the finals, Joint had marks of 14.62 meters and 14.70 meters sandwiched around a foul.

Lorah was fifth in the College Men's Javelin Throw College event with a season-best and ECAC qualifying toss of 65.50 meters (214 feet, 10 inches). Lorah's throw, which puts him back into first the nation with the top throw in the in Division III on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list, came on his first throw of the competition. The top 20 males on the TFRRS list at the end of the season will compete at the 2014 NCAA Division III National Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Lorah finished the preliminaries with throws of 64.47 and 64.56 meters. In the finals, Lorah posted marks of 62.47, 63.25 and 62.43 meters.

Moravian will begin defense of its Landmark Conference Championships when the 2014 meet starts on Saturday, May 3 at The United States Merchant Marine Academy.
