Lorah Runner-Up in Javelin at Sam Howell Meet at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. --- Senior Timothy Lorah was the runner-up in the javelin with a throw of 61.51 meters (201 feet, 10 inches) at the Sam Howell Invitational hosted by Princeton University Saturday.

Lorah's best throw came on his final attempt of the finals, and it would be the second-best throw in the nation on the Track & Field Results Reporting System is Lorah wasn't already holding down the top spot on the list. In the preliminary flight, Lorah had throws of 59.47 meters and 57.57 meters along with fouling on his final attempt. In the finals, Lorah's first toss was 58.79 meters before a foul on his second attempt. All four of his measured throws bettered the ECAC qualifying mark.

Freshman Michael Guarino also competed in the event Saturday and placed 16th with a toss of 46.31 meters (151 feet, 11 inches).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12 when the host the Annual Coach P Open at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field. Action on Friday begins at 4:00 p.m. while the first events on Saturday are slated for 10:00 a.m.
