DeStefano Selected as Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University freshman pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano has been selected as the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.

DeStefano went 3-0 in the circle with a 1.94 ERA, a shutout, four walks and 15 strikeouts in three starts with two complete games in a 6-2 week for Moravian at the PFX Spring Games in Florida. When not pitching, DeStefano started in right field for the Hounds, and she hit .381 (8-for-21) with three runs, three RBIs, four sacrifice bunts and a .435 on-base percentage. DeStefano had 13 putouts and two assists in 17 chances in the field, and she hit safely in six of eight games.

"Sarah has been an important part of our team in the circle and positionally," stated Head Coach Josh Baltz. "She has performed very well while making her collegiate debut. We're lucky to have her contributing this early and excited to see her grow throughout the season!"

The Greyhounds, who are 7-3 on the year, are not scheduled to return to action until Thursday, March 16 when the squad will host Ursinus College in a non-conference doubleheader at Blue & Grey Field at 3:00 p.m. to begin the 2023 home season.
