TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore third baseman Holly Walter and freshman pitcher/right fielder Sarah DeStefano have been honored as the Landmark Conference Softball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week for their performances last week.

The duo helped the Greyhounds to a 6-0 record last week at Blue & Grey Field including a pair of walk-off victories and a sweep of The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action.

Walter hit .524 during the week including a winning walk-off home run in the first contest of the doubleheader versus Catholic. Walter was 11-for-21 for the week with nine runs, two doubles, a triple, a homer, five RBIs, an .857 slugging percentage, three walks, two stolen bases and a .583 on-base percentage. Walter contributed three putouts and 15 assists in 18 chances in the field. Walter hit safely in five of six games, and she went 5-for-8 with four runs, a double, a homer and three RBIs in the sweep of Catholic.

"Holly had a good week of softball," noted first-year Head Coach Josh Baltz. "She gave us quality at-bats at the top of the order and was consistent with her approach at the plate. She continues to find ways to get on base and set the tone for the entire lineup."

DeStefano, who earned her second Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week honor of the season, was 3-0 in the circle last week. She tossed three complete games to go with one shutout, a 1.84 ERA, 16 strikeouts and just one walk allowed in 19 innings. DeStefano recorded six strikeouts in a 9-0, five-inning shutout of Catholic. DeStefano also hit .500 for the week, going 10-for-20 with four runs, four RBIs and a stolen base, and she added four putouts and five assists in nine chances in the field. DeStefano hit safely in five of six games and had a pair of three-hit games during the week.

"Sarah had a very busy week, she worked very hard in the circle and positionally," Baltz said. "When Sarah is getting ahead and attacking the zone, she makes it very difficult for the hitters. It is nice to see her confidence grow with each outing."

Moravian, which is 19-6 overall and 5-1 in Landmark Conference play, is slated to return to the diamond in a non-conference doubleheader at Misericordia University on Tuesday, April 18 with first pitch set for 3:00 p.m.
