TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore pitcher Madi Cunningham has been named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.

Cunningham, who earned her second Landmark Conference honor of the season, appeared in the circle in four of Moravian's six games last week, going 1-1 with a 0.00 ERA in 18.2 innings of action. Cunningham allowed just 12 hits and two walks while striking out 16 batters, and she also had a hit, two runs and an RBI at the plate and a putout and two assists in the field. Cunningham started the week with a season-high 10 strikeouts in a 1-0, 8-inning loss at Misericordia with the only run coming on the international tiebreaker.

"Madi has been great in the circle all season, she was a little unlucky early in the year and we did not play the best defense behind her at the start of the season," commented first-year Head Coach Josh Baltz. "Every time Madi has been on the mound, she has given us a chance to win, and she competes every pitch. The deeper we get into the season, the better Madi has become, which is a credit to her and the type of shape she is in along with her competitive approach to the game!"

The Hounds, who are 24-7 overall and 7-1 in Landmark Conference action, are slated to play their final non-conference doubleheader of the season on Tuesday, April 25 when the squad hosts Gwynedd Mercy University with first pitch of the opener slated for 3:00 p.m.
