CLERMONT, Fla. --- Sophomore pitcher Lizzie Mack tossed a two-hit shutout as the 19th-ranked Moravian College softball team defeated St. Vincent College, 3-0, at the National Training Center Sunday afternoon to sweep the team's opening two-game set of the year.

Mack had nine strikeouts in her season debut in the circle, and she allowed three walks in the contest but no base runners would cross the plate.

Moravian broke a scoreless tie with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Sophomore outfielder Dior George reached on a dropped third strike with two outs. George stole second to move into scoring position for an RBI double by junior outfielder Miranda Sergas. Junior catcher Cassie Ernst then reached on an error that allowed Sergas to score the second unearned run of the inning.

The Greyhounds tacked on another run in the bottom half of the sixth inning. Senior first baseman Amanda Dizinno had a one-out single, and senior Alyssa Fegely came into pinch run. After Fegely stole second, junior outfielder Taylor Mihalik delivered an RBI single to right field scoring Fegely.
