Seven Softball Players Ranked in Final NCAA DIII Statistics for 2013

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Seven members of the Moravian College softball team are ranked nationally in the final NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2013 season, and the team was ranked in six statistical categories as well including being in the top ten in the country in two categories.

Junior catcher Cassie Ernst is ranked in three categories to lead the Greyhounds. Ernst led NCAA Division III in hit by pitch per game at 0.62 as she was hit an NCAA Division III record 26 times this season as was junior Amanda Clark from the University of Redlands, and Ernst was 25th in on-base percentage at .548 and 46th in RBI per game at 1.07.

Sophomore outfielder Jenn Dalickas was 84th in the nation in batting average a .441, and she was tied for 69th in doubles per game at 0.36. Senior first baseman Amanda Dizinno was 47th in toughest to strikeout with one strikeout every 33.7 at-bats, and she was tied for 50th in sacrifice flies with three.

Sophomore outfielder Dior George was tied for 13th in the country in runs per game at 1.33, scoring a school record 56 runs this season, and she was tied for 69th in doubles per game at 0. 36. Junior outfielder Miranda Sergas was seventh in the country in sacrifice hits per game at 0.44 with 18 sacrifice hits this season.

Senior pitcher Alyssa Fegely was tied 27th in shutouts with seven while junior pitcher Elizabeth Tillou was tied for 12th the country in saves with three.

As a team, the Greyhounds were eighth in batting average at .357, tied for sixth in doubles per game at 2.0, 14th in fielding percentage at .970, 27th in scoring at 6.64 runs per contest, 33rd in slugging percentage at .480 and tied for 44th in winning percentage at .714.

Moravian completed its 2013 season with a 30-12 mark, the 13th straight 30-win season for the program, and the Greyhounds reached the postseason for the 19th consecutive year, participating in the Landmark Conference Tournament as the second seed after a 7-3 mark in the Landmark regular season.
