Sergas Named Landmark Softball Player of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Junior outfielder Miranda Sergas of the Moravian College softball team has been named the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Sergas led the Greyhounds at the plate during a 6-0 week, and she became the 31st player in school history to reach 100 career hits with a single in her first at-bat in a doubleheader sweep of Landmark Conference for The University of Scranton this past Saturday. Sergas was 10-for-16 for a .625 average for the week as Moravian hit .426 as a team.

She had six runs scored, two doubles, five RBI, 12 total bases, a .750 slugging percentage, three walks, a .684 on-base percentage and three sacrifice bunts during the week. In the field, Sergas had eight putouts while starting games in both left and right field during the week.

Moravian, which is 26-6 overall and 4-2 in Landmark Conference action, will play its final eight games of the regular season on the road starting with a non-conference doubleheader at DeSales University on Tuesday, April 16th beginning at 3:00 p.m.
