Six Softball Players Ranked in NCAA Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Six members of the Moravian College softball team are ranked nationally in the fourth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2013 season, and the team is ranked in seven statistical categories as well including being in the top ten in the country in three categories.

Sophomore outfielder Dior George is ranked in four categories to lead the Greyhounds. George is fifth in the country in runs per game at 1.53, and she is tied for 53rd in batting average at .448, 65th in slugging percentage at .690 and tied for 74th in triples with two.

Junior catcher Cassie Ernst. Ernst is second in the nation in hit by pitch per game at 0.65 as she has been hit 11 times this season and tied for 74th in triples. Junior outfielder Miranda Sergas is ninth in the country in sacrifice hits per game at 0.56.

Senior pitcher Alyssa Fegely is tied for tenth in shutouts with four while junior pitcher Elizabeth Tillou is tied for sixth in saves with two. Freshman pitcher Lindsay Sullivan is tied for 59th in shutouts with two.

As a team, the Greyhounds are fourth in fielding percentage at .979, eighth in batting average at .377, seventh in doubles per game at 2.29, 19th in triples per game at 0.53, 22nd in slugging percentage at .521, tied for 37th in scoring at 7.12 runs per contest and tied for 26th in winning percentage at .824.

Moravian, currently 17-3 overall and 1-1 in Landmark Conference action, is slated to return to action on Thursday, April 4th when the Greyhounds travel to Kean (N.J.) University for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
