Fegely & Mohr Named Landmark Pitcher & Player of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Senior pitcher Alyssa Fegely (Mertztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights HS) and senior third baseman Shannen Mohr (Slatington, Pa./Parkland HS) of the Moravian College softball squad have been named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week for their performances last week.

The duo helped the 19th–ranked Greyhounds open the 2013 season with a pair of victories on Sunday as the squad posted an 8-0, 5-inning win over Emerson (Mass.) College and a 3-0 victory versus Saint Vincent College at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida.

Fegely tossed her second career no-hitter in the opening game versus Emerson. Fegely had seven strikeouts in the victory, and she allowed five walks but would not allow any of the base runners to score in the game. Fegely was also two-for-three at the plate in the game, and she scored a run versus Saint Vincent as a pinch runner.

Mohr was three-for-six at the plate in the two games for a .500 average. She collected three RBIs to go with a double and two runs scored. In the field, Mohr had two putouts and three assists at her third base position.

Moravian, which is now 4-0 on the year after sweeping two games early Monday, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 5th with two more games at the National Training Center as the Greyhounds play Marywood University at 9:00 a.m. before battling John Carroll (Ohio) University at 11:00 a.m.
