Nine Softball Players Ranked in NCAA DIII Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Nine members of the Moravian College softball team are ranked nationally in the first NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2013 season, and the team is ranked in seven statistical categories as well.

Junior catcher Cassie Ernst (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona HS) is ranked in four categories. Ernst is fourth in the nation in hit by pitch per game at 0.9, tied for 12th in triples with two, tied for 26th in triples per game at 0.2 and tied for 45th in runs per game at 1.1.

Sophomore outfielder Dior George (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty HS) is tied for sixth in the country in runs per game at 1.5, and she is tied for 12th with two triples and tied for 26th at 0.2 triples per game.

Sophomore outfielder/designated player Jenn Dalickas (Mertztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights HS) is tied for 54th in the country with two home runs, and she is also tied for 61st with one triple.

Junior outfielder Miranda Sergas (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn HS) is second in the country in sacrifice hits per game at 0.7, and she is also tied for 61st with one triple.

Senior pitcher Alyssa Fegely (Mertztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights HS) is tied for fifth in shutouts with three, and she is tied for 36th with four victories while sophomore pitcher/first baseman Lizzie Mack (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford HS) and freshman pitcher Lindsay Sullivan (South Glens Falls, N.Y./South Glens Falls HS) are tied for 45th with one shutout. Mack is also tied for 61st with one triple at the plate.

Senior first baseman Amanda Dizinno (Budd Lake, N.J./Mount Olive HS) is tied for 53rd in the country in hit by pitch per game at 0.25 while senior shortstop Brook Kowal (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis HS) is tied for 61st with one triple. 

As a team, the Greyhounds are 12th in the nation in triples per game at 0.9, 22nd in slugging percentage at .536, tied for 23rd in fielding percentage at .977, 24th in batting average at .369, tied for 24th in doubles per game at 2.2, tied for 40th in scoring at 7.3 runs per contest and tied for 48th in winning percentage at .800 after the squad posted an 8-2 record at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida to begin the season.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, March 16th when the Greyhounds host Susquehanna University in a doubleheader to open the Landmark Conference season at Blue & Grey Field beginning at 1:00 p.m.
