Softball Moves Up to 7th in NCAA Division III East Region Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Moravian College softball team moved up one spot to seventh in the East Region in the second NCAA Division III Regional Rankings of the 2013 season released this week. 

The Greyhounds are 29-9 overall and now 26-7 in-region, one of the main criteria's for the ranking.  Montclair State University is ranked first in the region and is followed by Rowan (N.J.) University, Lebanon Valley College, Alvernia University, Susquehanna University, The College of New Jersey, Moravian and Kean (N.J.) University rounds out the top eight in the regional poll.  The complete rankings can be seen at http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/softball/d3/regional_rankings.

Moravian split a doubleheader with Susquehanna and won a game versus Lebanon Valley in Florida.  Moravian dropped games in Florida on Spring Break to Coe (Iowa) College, ranked fourth in the Midwest Region and John Carroll (Ohio) University, which is third in the Central Region.

Moravian returns to the field on Saturday, April 27th in a Landmark Conference doubleheader at The Catholic University of America beginning at 1:00 p.m. to close out the 2013 regular season. The Greyhounds can clinch the top seed in the 2013 Landmark Conference Tournament with a sweep or finishing tied with Susquehanna University in the conference standings after Saturday's action.
