Seven Greyhounds Ranked in Latest NCAA DIII Softball Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Seven members of the Moravian College softball team are ranked nationally in the eighth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2013 season, and the team is ranked in six statistical categories as well including being in the top ten in the country in two categories.

Junior catcher Cassie Ernst is ranked in three categories to lead the Greyhounds. Ernst leads NCAA Division III in hit by pitch per game at 0.65 as she has been hit an NCAA Division III record 26 times this season, and Ernst is 27th in on-base percentage at .550 and tied for 46th in RBI per game at 1.08.

Sophomore outfielder Jenn Dalickas is tied for 67th in the nation in batting average a .455, and she is tied for 79th in doubles per game. Senior first baseman Amanda Dizinno is tied for 59th in toughest to strikeout with one strikeout every 31.7 at-bats, and she is tied for 44th in sacrifice flies with three.

Sophomore outfielder Dior George is 13th in the country in runs per game at 1.35, scoring a school record 54 runs this season, and she is tied for 79th in doubles per game at 0. 35. Junior outfielder Miranda Sergas is seventh in the country in sacrifice hits per game at 0.46 with 18 sacrifice hits this season.

Senior pitcher Alyssa Fegely is tied 19th in shutouts with seven while junior pitcher Elizabeth Tillou is tied for 12th the country in saves with three.

As a team, the Greyhounds are fourth in batting average at .367, ninth in doubles per game at 2.05, 12th in fielding percentage at .971, 29th in slugging percentage at .493, 26th in scoring at 6.9 runs per contest and tied for 36th in winning percentage at .750.

Moravian, currently 30-10 overall and 7-3 in Landmark Conference action, is slated to return to action on Friday, May 3rd in the opening round of the 2013 Landmark Conference Tournament being hosted by top seed Susquehanna University. The second seeded Greyhounds will play third seed The Catholic University of America on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
